About Us

Meet the BeatDiabetes Team.

What We Do

WHAT WE DO

We advocate for healthy lifestyles and diabetes prevention by revolving what we do around our four core pillars of Sleep, Nutrition, Exercise and Mental Health. We promote our mission by taking a four pronged approach that focuses on mentorship, education, community outreach and research.

1. Mentorship

We provide one on one mentorship to children who battle with diabetes. We pair these kids with our volunteers who provide the support and guidance needed to help these children live and manage their life with diabetes.

2. Education

According to our four core pillars, a balanced lifestyle includes prioritizing nutrition, sleep, fitness and mental health. We share important information on each of these topics to help people maintain their health.

3. Community Outreach

Our team believes knowledge is power and we aim to clear any misconceptions of diabetes. Through community programs, health-fairs, and school talks, we promote an awareness of what Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes is, how to prevent it, and how to live a healthy lifestyle.

4. Research

We fundraise for ongoing diabetes research and work closely with organizations such as the UCLA Diabetes Program, the Larry Hillblom Islet Research Center and the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center, to provide relevant and accurate information on the latest developments in diabetes research.
